Vocabulary acquisition: IDIOMS (PADLET)

Welcome back! 馃憢

As I have explained in class today, languages are full of idiomatic expressions that can be quite tricky! If you want someone to "spill the beans", you don't want them to literally do it, what you are asking them is to tell you a secret.

For this little activity, you have to take the list of idioms I gave you today and choose two different colours. With one colour, you will underline the idioms you already know. The second colour is for you to underline the idioms you don't know but whose meaning you think you can guess. Finally, you'll have to choose one of the idioms that are left without underlying because you don't understand and make a little investigation 馃攳 on the internet. Once you have found out what they mean, tap twice on the blackboard below and add a sentence using that idiom (follow the example I've left for you).

Once you are all done, we'll take a look at it in class, correct possible mistakes and discuss your work so we can all learn together!

Have a lovely day,
